There is a very good book (if you like the franchise) called 'Beginning of the awakening' or something like that, gives you a back story to the characters from the movie. Finns story is worth reading on its own. Puts that whole opening fight scene in to perspective.

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens
I think he's been behind the scenes the whole time. He didn't seem bothered too much that his new space toy was destroyed. I think he manipulated the emperor too and all of the jedis into thinking Anakin would restore balance to the force. Or maybe he's Anakin. Or the emperor? Or he's actually the dark side of the force.

Also how did they rescue Kylo Ren? You don't see that part and hes left essentially crippled by Rey ( can't imagine where they got that idea from).

Oh, an he blames it on the negativity of his old mentor, Yoda for filling his mind with negativity which manifests the dark side in him, eventually taking over.

Uncle Gank sorts your problems

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens
I've seen seen it, I the end the bad guy turns out to be Luke Skywalker so it's no different to the older (and newer) one in that the Anakin Skywalker story happens all over again to his son.

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens
the whole Jedi's not having a bird bit was only in the prequels

which the new movie showed they are willing to ignore bits if they want to

like the Jedi's being back to being almost mythical - Han not believeing or even hearing of the force in EpIV, to having to say "it was all true" in the new one.

Rather than having a fucking great temple in the capital of the universe and being in the senate and every sod knowing about them even in arse end of nowhere places like tatooine

How's that then? Obi Wan was single and dedicated to the Jedi order until the end of Clone Wars and when the Jedi were slaughtered he hide away on Tatooine to keep a watch on Luke in solitary until the New Hope when he died.
